Joche is a Colombian artist influenced by Rock, Hip Hop and especially by the South American folklore. He was born in Bogota, Colombia, and at the age of 14 he founded the Rock Band “Kanaloa”. It was with this band that Joche reached the finals of the national talent contests “La Nota Radiactiva“ and “Festival Luna De Plata”. He also joined the Andean Musical group “Yapari” where he discovered a new passion in playing typical instruments like el Charango, the Cuatro Llanero and the Colombian Tiple as well as the combination of these sounds with electrical guitars and drums.
In 1997 Joche interrupts his psychology studies and goes to Miami, Florida where he began his studies in Business. In the year 2000 he decided to dedicate himself completely to his music and joined the Rock Pop Band RPM, with whom he toured to 9 cities in the United States and launched the Promotional single “Angel”.
Throughout his musical career Joche has had the opportunity to work on different genres of music. He has shared the stage with Artists like Son By Four, Destiny’s Child, Jon Secada and Back Street Boys. He has performed in Shows like Footy’s Wingding and Lupus 2000. He has also worked as producer and or musician on albums for artists like Martha Rhaulin, RPM, Tito Puente Jr. and Ciclon.
Joche has decided to combine the sounds of his traditional Colombian roots with Rock and some Hip Hop the result is his latest album named “Pueblo Viejo”. Produced by Joche and the recognized Miami based producer Rodolfo Castillo, Pueblo Viejo is a fusion of percussion, native rhythms, electric guitars and urban sounds combined with sincere and fresh every day lyrics. Pueblo Viejo is being produced in 2006 by the record label Talent Beach Music.
