Alberto Barros, is the son of the late Jose Barros, the famous Colombian songwriter responsible for such timeless favorites as La Piragua, Las Pilanderas, among many more.
Alberto Barros was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, November 30th. At age 14 he attended his first music class at the University of the Atlantic, then he moved to Medellin, Colombia where he finished his degree in music harmony and orchestration.
His love for the trombone, piano and bass opened the doors for Alberto to produce and arrange many albums for artists such as: Fruko y Sus Tesos, Joe Arroyo, Pacho Galán and Adolfo Echeverría, among others. Soon after that Alberto became the musical director and producer for the well-known “Grupo Niche”. During this time he was privileged to conduct and arrange for Celia Cruz, Oscar D’Leon, Héctor Lavoe, Andy Montañez, Pete “El Conde Rodríguez” among many others.
Alberto Barros is the recipient of many Grammy nominations for his work on Marc Anthony, Son de Cali, and Grupo Niche.
Today, Alberto works as one of the best and most talented salsa producers/musicians worldwide.
